Article Three was approached by one of the world’s largest snack makers to provide potential alternative sourcing arrangements for potatoes by utilising different trade agreements across South East Asia, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

Article Three was able to uncover both trade and investment opportunities for the company under existing bilateral agreements as well as shoring up potential opportunities to secure advantages from future trade agreements and those under negotiation, particularly in the high-growth MENA region.

The research undertaken also identified significant non-tariff barriers for potatoes across a number of economies that could be addressed and recommended approaches to achieve this without offending industries seeking trade protection.
